Connecting with the healthcare workforce and those seeking to improve their working conditions is my passion. My lectures and small group sessions provide insight into crafting deeply meaningful health professional careers, transformative healthcare leadership, and a work environment that enriches the lives of patients, caregivers, and team members.

1
Fostering Inclusive Inter-professional Care Teams
High-functioning inter-professional care teams must embrace diversity. An organizational culture of intentional inclusivity is necessary to both foster and sustain productive team work that centers collaboration around optimal patient outcomes. Empowering leaders possess an awareness of the insidious effects of unconscious bias on teamwork and work to dismantle various biases to create true belonging in healthcare teams. Mutual understanding of each others' lived personal and professional experiences empowers inter-professional healthcare teams to use their diversity to tackle the adverse social determinants of health at the root of health disparities.
2
Architects and Designers as Healthcare Leaders
Master planning, new construction, renovation, and expansion projects at hospitals, health systems, and health sciences universities provide architects and designers unprecedented access to key decision-makers in healthcare. As influencers of decisions that will impact patient experience and health outcomes, drive healthcare team member experience, and the environment, designers and architects have the opportunity to lead with principles of design justice. Opening clients' minds to the realities that drive workforce burnout, adverse health outcomes, and carbon emissions that can be addressed in an impactful way during the design process is a huge opportunity to lead that must be embraced by today's healthcare architecture teams.
